Baseball Game Preview: Central Eagles vs. Guadalupe Centers Aztecs

The Central Eagles will face off against the Guadalupe Centers Aztecs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Central is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Central came up short against Northeast on Wednesday, falling 18-10.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Guadalupe Centers made sure to put some runs up on the board against The Daniel Academy on Thursday. The Aztecs blew past the Lions 14-4.

Jesus Carrillo looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

On the hitting side, Nomar Carrasco was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with seven stolen bases and three runs. Carrasco is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Filly Camacha was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Guadalupe Centers always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .767. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The Daniel Academy only posted an OBP of .300.

Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Guadalupe Centers, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Everything went Central's way against Guadalupe Centers in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, as Central made off with a 17-2 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Aztecs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
