Basketball Recap: Southwestern Takes a Loss

Southwestern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They received a blow as they fell 39-22 to the Lewis Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sabers of the 0-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2019.

Southwestern's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Lewis, they moved to 1-4 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Southwestern will head out on the road to square off against Edmondson-Westside at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Edmondson-Westside's defense has only allowed 28.4 points per game this season, so Southwestern's offense will have their work cut out for them. Lewis has already played their next match (against Academy for College and Career Exploration), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
