Softball Recap: Eaton Reds vs. Brush Beetdiggers
Eaton had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Brush Beetdiggers 11-1 on Friday. The Reds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 22 matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Kiauna Smith and Zoe Hamilton did most of the damage at the plate: Smith scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Hamilton scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Hamilton is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadeyn Lampe, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Eaton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Brush only posted an OBP of .421.
The victory (which was Eaton's seventh in a row) raised their record to 23-3. As for Brush, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-17 record this season.
Eaton has already played their next contest, a 10-0 win against Lyons on the 25th. Brush does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
