Baseball Game Preview: Riverdale Cowboys vs. Caruthers Blue Raiders

Riverdale is 1-9 against Caruthers since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cowboys will take on the Blue Raiders at 4:00 p.m. Riverdale is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Riverdale fell victim to Fowler and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to the Redcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Cowboys' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Riverdale saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was CARLOS CABRERA, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Caruthers made sure to put some runs up on the board against Parlier on Friday. The Blue Raiders blew past the Panthers 29-1. The result was nothing new for the Blue Raiders, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Caruthers has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-14 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Riverdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-15.
