Baseball Recap: Marine Leadership Academy Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game, Marine Leadership Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Collins Warriors. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Warriors last Saturday, they had to take a 20-8 loss.

Nathan Vargas was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Marine Leadership Academy's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Collins, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Marine Leadership Academy will face off against Wells at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Collins, they will head out on the road to square off against Orr at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
