Baseball Recap: Holy Cross Takes a Loss

Holy Cross came into this matchup off a tough ten-run defeat last Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Honesdale Hornets by a score of 5-3 on Wednesday. The Crusaders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Josh Lentowski was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Holy Cross' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-6 when he doesn't).

Holy Cross dropped their record down to 4-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Honesdale, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
