Baseball Recap: Arlington Victorious

Arlington proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 14) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Raymond Central Mustangs 10-9. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered a 5-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Jackson Stosich made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Stosich was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.

In other pitching news, Wes Monke looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2025.

Back at the plate, Liam Shearer was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Luke Sharp, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Arlington is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Raymond Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Arlington is set to challenge their familiar foe Fort Calhoun at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Raymond Central will take on rival Douglas County West at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
