It was a Battle of the Birds when Greenwood faced off against Greenwood Christian on Saturday. The Greenwood Eagles wrapped up 2024 with a 73-59 victory over the Greenwood Christian Hawks. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greenwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cj Terrell, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Triston Lewis, who went 6 of 7 on his way to 13 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Greenwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greenwood Christian only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Greenwood Christian lost, don't look at Ty Kennedy. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 40.7% of Greenwood Christian's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Dixon, who put up nine points.

Greenwood is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Greenwood Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
