Softball Recap: Abbott Comes Up Short

Abbott lost against Blum back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Panthers fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 7-6. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Abby Neill was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off 11 hits. Neill was even better at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Rylee Wise made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. Dinah Kaska also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Abbott's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Blum, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4-1.

Looking ahead, Abbott will head out on the road to face off against Mart at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blum, they will take on Three Way at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
