Softball Recap: Richlands Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Richlands put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the South Lenoir Blue Devils as the Richlands Wildcats made off with a 9-0 victory. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 6-5 win the Blue Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

South Lenoir's batters probably weren't too happy with Makenzie Goin, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 16 Ks (she gave up zero walks). The dominant performance also gave Goin a new career-low in hits (zero).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jailah Wilson, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Addi Andrews was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Richlands' victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.2 runs. As for South Lenoir, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Richlands will have a chance to go back-to-back against South Lenoir: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
