Basketball Game Preview: Wasco Tigers vs. Taft Wildcats

Wasco is 1-9 against Taft since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Wasco Tigers face off against the Taft Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Wasco's defense has only allowed 26.1 points per game this season, so Taft's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Wasco is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Thursday. They fell 37-28 to Delano.

Wasco's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Vianey Velasquez, who posted ten points, and Camila Castillo, who had four points and four steals.

Meanwhile, Taft played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Shafter 52-22. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Generals: they've now lost eight in a row.

Wasco's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Taft, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-9.

Wasco might still be hurting after the 63-39 defeat they got from Taft when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Wasco avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
