Baseball Recap: Claremont Comes Up Short

Claremont dropped their record down to 9-12-1 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Ayala Bulldogs by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-2 on Tuesday.

Ramzey Farah was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

As for Ayala, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-6. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.3 runs.

On Ayala's side, Isaac Huver looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Huver has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jaden Valenzuela, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Boyd, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

While Claremont had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
