Recap: Brenham vs. Montgomery
The Brenham Cubs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They were the victim of a tough 6-0 loss at the hands of Montgomery.
Montgomery was without their leading scorer, Hudson Brawner, in Tuesday's contest. With Brawner sidelined, Montgomery had to make some big changes to the lineup. Three players got more time on the pitch than they're used to: Alex Goode (25), Trevor Busch (39), and Mason Miller (80). The trio had averaged 12.75, 18, and 55.17 minutes respectively before Tuesday's match.
Brenham has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9-3 record this season. As for Montgomery, their win bumped their record up to 5-3-4.
Brenham will head out on the road to face off against Magnolia West at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Magnolia West's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Montgomery, they will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Magnolia at 7:00 p.m. Montgomery is facing Magnolia at the right time seeing as Magnolia is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
