Baseball Recap: Fayette County Sets Scoring Season-High Against Brookwood

Fayette County scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Brookwood Panthers by a score of 7-6. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Brayden Unger made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Kason Rushing, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Fayette County is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Brookwood, they moved to 2-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fayette County will face off against Sipsey Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
