Football Preview: Roosevelt Rough Riders vs. Torres Toros        
        
		
             The Roosevelt Rough Riders will face off against the Torres Toros at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Roosevelt's defense has only allowed 15.8  points per game  this season, so Torres' offense will have their work cut out for them.
 Roosevelt is headed in fresh off scoring the most  points they have all season. They blew past Sanger West 55-0 at home  on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Rough Riders with their most commanding win of the  season.
 Roosevelt's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Cj Barker, who rushed for 74 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, and also threw for 96 yards and a touchdown on only nine passes. Another back making a difference was  Ehis Idoni, who rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry.
 He was just one part of a punishing run game: Roosevelt was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 278  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 179  rushing yards in five consecutive  contests  dating back to last season.
 Roosevelt wouldn't let Sanger West keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Roosevelt can thank  Idoni and  Julian Maldonado for forcing both of them. Idoni's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 124  rushing yards.
 Meanwhile, Torres came into Friday's   matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They enjoyed a cozy  20-6 victory over Fresno on Friday.
 Roosevelt's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Torres, their  victory (their first of the  season) made their record 1-3.
 Roosevelt suffered a grim  35-14 defeat to Torres  in their previous meeting  back in September of 2023. Can Roosevelt avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
