Softball Recap: Menlo-Atherton's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Menlo-Atherton lost to Gunn back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. Menlo-Atherton walked away with a 7-4 win over Gunn. Winning may never get old, but the Bears sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Gracy Nava was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Juliana Pandolfo was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Carey Maletis, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Menlo-Atherton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in three consecutive matches.

Menlo-Atherton's record now sits at 5-2. As for Gunn, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Menlo-Atherton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-11 victory against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory on the 24th. As for Gunn, they have also already played their next game, a 14-10 defeat against Milpitas on the 25th.
