Soccer Game Preview: Oakland vs. Blackman

The Oakland Patriots will challenge the Blackman Blaze at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Oakland's last five matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Oakland is headed into Thursday's following a draw, the team's first since March 6. They and Riverdale finished up their game with a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Blackman's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 2-0 to Rockvale. While losing is never fun, Blackman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Rockvale are ranked 20th).

Blackman has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. With that draw, Oakland's record moves to 4-4-2.

Oakland beat Blackman 2-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Blaze have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
