Basketball Recap: Walton Takes a Loss

Walton was the 60-52 winner over Destin when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Walton Braves fell to the Destin Sharks 49-43.

Destin found their leader in sophomore Calix McCune, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 22 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Trace Williams, who posted nine points.

Walton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season. As for Destin, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-11.

Walton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 50-38 defeat against Gadsden County on the 31st. Destin has also already played their next game, a 55-45 win against Baker on the 31st.
