Basketball Recap: Grapevine Faith Christian Takes a Loss

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Lions on Friday. The Grapevine Faith Christian Lions were outmatched by the Trinity Christian Lions and fell 92-59. Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Matthew Branco, who went 6 for 10 to rack up 15 points. Branco is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. C?el Q. also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trinity Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lucai Anderson, who went 12 of 21 on his way to 32 points and six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Anderson has scored at least a third of Trinity Christian's points. Jett Mccasland was another key player, going 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and eight assists.

Grapevine Faith Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 27-7. As for Trinity Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-12 record this season.
