Baseball Recap: Riverview Has No Trouble Against Morgan

The Riverview Sharks made easy work of the Morgan Mustangs on Tuesday and carried off a 12-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sharks.

Driston Marino was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Marino was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Xavier Gonzalez looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Justin Edwards, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2025.

Riverview now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Morgan, their record now sits at 0-4.

Riverview wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 9-1 loss against Freedom on the 19th. Morgan has also already played their next matchup (against King), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
