Volleyball Recap: Caston Takes a Loss

Caston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Pioneer Panthers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 two weeks ago.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-10, 25-13.

Natalie Warner paced Caston's offense, picking up six kills. Warner got some help from Ellie Zartman and her eight assists. Finally, Warner was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Caston's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Pioneer, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Caston will square off against Frontier at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday. As for Pioneer, they will take on Greenwood Christian Academy in a tournament on Saturday.
