Football Recap: Gila Bend Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Gila Bend can now relate to. They were dealt a 45-6 defeat at the hands of the Berean Academy Eagles on Saturday. The contest marked the Gila Monsters' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Leading Berean Academy to victory were ISAAC MERRILL and JOHNNY TORRES. MERRILL rushed for 125 yards and two TDs on only 12 carries, while TORRES rushed for 144 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. What's more, MERRILL racked up 40 passing yards, the most he's had since back in September.
