Basketball Recap: Boaz Takes a Loss

Boaz entered their contest against Albertville on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Boaz Pirates had to suffer through a 70-34 loss at the hands of the Albertville Aggies. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Aggies are ranked 37th).

Boaz's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-8. As for Albertville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Boaz won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Southside at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Boaz is facing Southside at the right time seeing as Southside is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Albertville, they and St. John Paul II will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played.
