Basketball Recap: Lehigh Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lehigh can now relate to. They fell 72-63 to the Plant City Raiders on Wednesday. The Lightning have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Despite the loss, Lehigh still got an impressive performance from Justin Gollop, who dropped a double-double with 33 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, Gollop is now averaging an impressive 16.6 points per game. Another player making a difference was Daanro Mauvais, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, Lehigh smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Leading Plant City to victory were Gavin Tinsley and Laurice Hamilton. Tinsley dropped a double-double with 20 points and 17 boards, while Hamilton dropped a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds. That's the most points Hamilton has posted since back in December of 2024. Vare Miller was another key player, putting up ten points.

Lehigh's loss dropped their record down to 23-5. As for Plant City, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.

Lehigh does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Plant City, they will square off against Sarasota at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Sarasota will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something Plant City surely won't give up without a fight.
