Basketball Recap: McNeil Comes Up Short

McNeil was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Stony Point Tigers, falling 43-19. While losing is never fun, the Mavericks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 834th, while the Tigers are ranked 308th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stony Point to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kinnedy Funderburke, who went 5 of 11 en route to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Paulk, who posted six points and four steals.

McNeil's defeat dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Stony Point, they moved to 11-14 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

McNeil wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-25 loss against Vandegrift on the 24th. Stony Point has also already played their next matchup, a 53-37 victory against Cedar Ridge on the 24th.
