The John Curtis Christian Patriots will head out on the road to face off against the Covington Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Covington took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on John Curtis Christian, who comes in off a win.

John Curtis Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They came out on top against Ponchatoula by a score of 8-3.

Gabe Lagarde looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, John Curtis Christian let Luke Martinez and Nate Alario loose on the outfield. Martinez scored a run while going 1-for-2, while Alario scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Alario a new career-high in doubles (two). Bryce Hebert was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Covington's offense. They lost 8-0 to Northshore on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Lions have suffered against the Panthers since April 9, 2019.
