Basketball Game Preview: Frontier Academy Wolverines vs. Liberty Common Eagles

The Frontier Academy Wolverines will square off against the Liberty Common Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Frontier Academy is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Resurrection Christian just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were outmatched by the Cougars and fell 92-33. The matchup marked the Wolverines' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Frontier Academy had strong showings from Jackson Belt, who posted nine points, and Owen Steward, who put up seven points.

Meanwhile, Liberty Common was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 69-64 heartbreaker at the hands of Lyons.

Frontier Academy will need focus on slowing down Grayson Clay, one of several Liberty Common players who made an impact when they last played. He went 11 for 20 on his way to 28 points and three steals. Daegan Thayer was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards.

Liberty Common's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Frontier Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Frontier Academy came up short against Liberty Common in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 54-41. Can Frontier Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
