Football Recap: Charles City Comes Up Short

Charles City played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 63-0 loss at the hands of the Clear Lake Lions. The Comets haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Charles City's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Clear Lake, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Charles City is set to take on their familiar foe Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Clear Lake will face off against rival West Delaware at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Lions 4.4, the Hawks 11) so any points scored will be well earned.
