Basketball Recap: Atlantic Coast Comes Up Short

Atlantic Coast and Creekside squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Atlantic Coast had to settle for second. They lost to the Creekside Knights on the road by a 55-38 margin. The Stingrays were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, Atlantic Coast still got an impressive performance from Imani Henderson, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds. Henderson has become a key player for Atlantic Coast: the team is 4-1 when she posts at least eight boards, but 6-7 otherwise.

Creekside got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Presley Brinkley out in front who went 6-for-13 to rack up 13 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Brinkley is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 46% in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Maddie Rolander, who posted 11 points and four steals.

Atlantic Coast's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Creekside, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-7.

Atlantic Coast does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Creekside, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 46-40 loss against West Port on the 13th.
