Baseball Game Preview: Centerville Big Reds/Redettes vs. Chariton Chargers

The Centerville Big Reds/Redettes will head out on the road to square off against the Chariton Chargers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Centerville has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with five straight defeats, while Chariton will come in with nine straight wins.

On Thursday, Centerville didn't have quite enough to beat Albia and fell 4-3.

Meanwhile, Chariton beat Fairfield 8-4 on Friday.

Chariton pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.2 runs over those games. As for Centerville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.

Centerville suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Chariton in their previous meeting back in June of 2024. Can the Big Reds/Redettes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
