Basketball Recap: Georgia Military College Comes Up Short

Georgia Military College was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the Aquinas Fightin' Irish. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fightin' Irish apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2020.

When it comes to explaining why Georgia Military College lost, don't look at Benjamin Vaughn. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 11 en route to 15 points. Those 15 points gave Vaughn a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Damien Moore, who posted six points and 11 rebounds.

Georgia Military College's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Aquinas, they moved to 2-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Georgia Military College will head out to face off against Academy for Classical Education at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Aquinas, they will venture away from home to take on Harlem on Tuesday.
