Gahr is 7-1 against La Habra since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Gladiators will host the Highlanders at 3:15 p.m.
Gahr is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since April 1st on Wednesday. They lost 11-2 to La Serna.
Gahr saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leah Magana, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, La Habra waltzed into their match on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the Lancers get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory.
The result came thanks to Maddison Payne's shutout, as she gave up just a hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Georgia Rickenbacker, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Milee Valencia, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
La Habra's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Gahr, they now have a losing record of 10-11-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Gahr hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like La Habra struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Gahr came out on top in a nail-biter against La Habra in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Do the Gladiators have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Highlanders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
