Basketball Recap: Northfield Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Northfield can now relate to. They were beaten by the Arvada West Wildcats 67-38 on Friday. The match marked the Nighthawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Northfield still got an impressive performance from Judah Michael, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. Taylor Owens was another key player, putting up nine points.

Arvada West's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keegen Balistreri led the charge by going 6-for-12 en route to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Lusche, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds.

Northfield has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season. Arvada West is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Northfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Arvada West, they will face off against Eaglecrest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Eaglecrest's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 22 contests.
