Baseball Recap: North Rowan Comes Up Short

North Rowan lost against Thomasville last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. North Rowan came up short against Thomasville, falling 22-11. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Zion Gillespie and Chase Cauble stepped up to the plate in a big way. Gillespie scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4, while Cauble scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Gillespie is becoming a predictor of North Rowan's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Zane Smith was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

North Rowan's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Thomasville, their record is now 4-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. North Rowan is set to challenge their familiar foe East Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Thomasville will square off against rival West Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
