Basketball Recap: Fairfield Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Fairfield took on Norwich on Friday. The Fairfield Falcons came up short against the Norwich Eagles, falling 53-28. The Falcons were down 50-21 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Fairfield still got an impressive performance from Yareli Martinez, who posted eight points. The dominant performance also gave Martinez a new career-high in shooting accuracy (60%).

Fairfield has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Norwich and bumps their season record up to 13-7.
