Game recap: Hillcrest Christian scores late to defeat Prentiss Christian

Hillcrest Christian (Jackson, Miss.) captured the lead in the fourth quarter and held on for a 14-12 victory over Prentiss Christian (Prentiss, Miss.) on Saturday. The Cougars captured the lead for good when Curtis Westerfield ran for a touchdown.

After trailing 7-0 at the half, the Saints went ahead on a touchdown run by Westerfield with less than a minute remaining in the fourth.

Hillcrest Christian saw its 7-point halftime lead fall to one entering the fourth.

Westerfield stood out for HC in the win. The senior ran for one touchdown.

The victory is a complete turnaround from last season's game between these two teams, which Prentiss Christian took, 39-6.



The loss snapped PC's 2-game winning streak.

Hillcrest Christian (1-4) goes up against Parklane Academy in a MAIS AAA II District 2 game matchup next week, while Prentiss Christian (2-3) locks horns with Tallulah Academy in a non-conference game.
