Volleyball Recap: Liberty Falls Despite Big Games from Mercy Valentin and Galilea Santos Cruz + How To Watch

Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Haines City Hornets. While the Chargers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Hornets 25-11 in the first set.

Liberty started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 11-25, 25-18, 25-10, 27-25.

Liberty's loss came despite strong showings from Galilea Santos Cruz and Mercy Valentin. Santos Cruz had 22 digs and four assists, while Valentin had seven kills, six aces, and five digs.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Haines City, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Liberty has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against New Dimensions on the 28th. As for Haines City, they will square off against Davenport at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
