Volleyball Recap: Sage Creek Takes a Loss

Sage Creek lost against Bishop back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Bobcats came up short against the Knights, falling 3-0.

Sage Creek took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-17, 25-19.

Jack Catilus paced Sage Creek's offense, picking up 11 kills. Catilus got some help from YJ Cho and his 13 assists. Finally, Mason McConnell kept Sage Creek's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Sage Creek's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-16. As for Bishop's, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 17 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sage Creek will challenge Canyon Crest Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Ravens will roll in looking for their 32nd straight win, something the Bobcats surely won't give up without a fight. After both having extra time off, Bishop's and Santa Fe Christian will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
