Basketball Recap: Stanwood Skates Past Marysville-Pilchuck with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Marysville Getchell, Stanwood was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 69-40 victory over the Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 83-51 two weeks ago.

Greyson Pierce was nothing short of spectacular: he went 11 for 14 on his way to 24 points along with seven boards and three steals. Those 24 points gave him a new career-high. Jack Edlund was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Despite the loss, Marysville-Pilchuck still got an impressive performance from Michael Taylor, who went 5 of 11 en route to 15 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cyrus Broers, who posted four points and eight boards.

The win snapped Stanwood's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-13 record. As for Marysville-Pilchuck, they dropped their record down to 1-17 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Stanwood has already played their next contest, a 63-46 defeat against Snohomish on the 31st. As for Marysville-Pilchuck, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 68-24 loss against Everett on the 31st.
