Softball Recap: Bartlett Takes a Loss

Bartlett was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Des Arc Eagles, falling 6-0.

Nevaeh Craig was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Bartlett saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brenlee Suarez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. Those two hits gave Suarez a new career-high. Molly Williams also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Bartlett's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Des Arc, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Bartlett Panthers face off against Munford Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Bartlett's pitchers better be ready for this one: Munford has averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Des Arc, they will square off against Hernando at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
