McMichael entered their tilt with Rockingham County on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They didn't even let the Cougars on the board, marking their second-straight 3-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

McMichael was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-17, 25-19.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McMichael to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carrington Vaughn, who had four digs and two aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Smith, who had six digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good servers: McMichael was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 11 aces in three consecutive matches.

McMichael's win bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Rockingham County, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-13.

Coming up, McMichael will face off against Grimsley at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Rockingham County, they will challenge Morehead at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
