Volleyball Recap: Escalante Comes Up Short

Escalante lost against Mesa Vista on October 9th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lobos fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 3-2. The Lobos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Escalante actually scored more points across those five sets (111-101), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 28-26, 15-25, 18-25, 15-12.

Among those leading the charge was Charlene Archuleta, who had eight digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (24).

Escalante's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Mesa Vista, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Escalante wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Penasco on the 30th. As for Mesa Vista, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Questa on the 30th.
