Baseball Recap: Eastern Mennonite Comes Up Short

Eastern Mennonite was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 9-4 to the Fishburne Military Caissons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Flames of the 17-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Eastern Mennonite saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cyrus Diener, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Eastern Mennonite's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Eastern Mennonite will take on rival Hargrave Military Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Fishburne Military is set to face off against their familiar foe Roanoke Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup will give the Caissons their first taste of in-conference action this season.
