Basketball Recap: Michigan Center Takes a Loss

After flying high against Napoleon last Thursday, Michigan Center came back down to earth. The Michigan Center Cardinals fell just short of the Columbia Central Golden Eagles by a score of 46-44 on Tuesday. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

With the loss, Michigan Center broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-3. As for Columbia Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Michigan Center and Columbia Central should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. Michigan Center will face off against Manchester at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday up 481 places (125 vs. 606). Meanwhile, Columbia Central (ranked 199th) will meet Homer (ranked 670th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
