Softball Recap: Opp Drops Highest Score of Season Against New Brockton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Opp). They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the New Brockton Gamecocks on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won 12 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Taylor Adams was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Jaidyn Ivey was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.

Opp has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for New Brockton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.

Looking ahead, Opp will face off against Pike County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bobcats are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for New Brockton, they will host Samson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.64 runs per game on average), something the Gamecocks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
