Basketball Recap: Licking Takes a Loss

After flying high against Richland last Friday, Licking came back down to earth. The Licking Wildcats came up short against the Thayer Bobcats on Tuesday, falling 61-37. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Licking's loss dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Thayer, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Licking Wildcats take on the St. James Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Licking is facing St. James at the right time seeing as St. James is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Thayer, they will be taking part in a tournament against Branson at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Thayer's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.
