League recap: Christian Academy of Knoxville exits state Top 25 after defeat

Christian Academy of Knoxville suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 47-21 loss to Christian Academy of Knoxville. The Warriors had been ranked 22nd, but fell to 27 following the defeat.

Christian Academy of Knoxville extended the longest winning streak in AA District 4 this week by beating Scott, 47-21. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.

Brian Frye was the best wideout in the league this week as Stone Memorial lost to Loudon. Frye racked up four receptions for 131 yards. Thomas Janow helped Stone Memorial's passing attack out by catching two balls for 37 yards.

Charlie High put up the best numbers through the air as the Warriors topped the Highlanders. He finished with a total of 24 completions for 242 yards and three touchdowns. High's favorite target this week was Davis Howell, who caught 11 passes for 123 yards.

Janow was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 125 yards on 25 carries as the Panthers fell to the Redskins. Corey Myers also contributed to the rushing game with 34 yards on the ground.

Christian Academy of Knoxville's High and Howell have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading AA District 4 in both passing and receiving yards. High has thrown for 2567 yards this season, while Howell, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 66 catches for 1023 yards. Janow from Stone Memorial leads the league in rushing with 677 yards.

Loudon and Mark Wattenbarger's team played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Loudon eventually emerging with a 20-18 victory.
