Baseball Game Preview: Florin Panthers vs. Fairfield Falcons

The Florin Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Fairfield Falcons at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Florin is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Florin's offense. They came up short against Fairfield on Tuesday, falling 21-0.

For Fairfield's part, Christian Rambeau was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Rambeau a new career-low in hits (zero). He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Ricardo Martin was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Donavan Luu, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Fairfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Florin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Fairfield, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
