Soccer Game Preview: Spanish River vs. Wellington

Spanish River hasn't had much luck against Wellington recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Spanish River Sharks will venture away from home to challenge the Wellington Wolverines at 8:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Spanish River comes in on three and Wellington on four.

Spanish River's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Martin County as Spanish River made off with an 8-0 win. The Sharks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by five goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Wellington's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They had just enough and edged King's Academy out 1-0. Give the Wolverines' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Mackenzie Mcdonough, who's now up to three this season.

Wellington pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six games. As for Spanish River, their win bumped their record up to 9-1-3.
