Basketball Game Preview: Estero Wildcats vs. Cypress Lake Panthers

Estero has gone 8-2 against Cypress Lake recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Estero Wildcats duke it out with the Cypress Lake Panthers at 6:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Estero's favor as the squad sits on four straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Cypress Lake has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

While Estero didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 53-42 win over Cape Coral on Tuesday.

Amiya Lewis was her usual excellent self, going 11 for 20 on her way to 28 points and eight rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Vaill, who posted 13 points.

Estero smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in nine consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 47-14, which was the final score in Cypress Lake's tilt against Fort Myers on Thursday.

Cypress Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Estero, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
